How to Grow Long Hair

09 May

1. Be nice to it…

People are always telling me how they YANK on their hair while brushing and it hurts my heart (and my head). Brush your hair by starting from the bottom, and work your way up.

2. Don’t box dye….

Buy professional colour from a local beauty supply store that will sell to the public. Box dye is the cheapest because it has the most ancient technology in the colour world. It is also too strong, because it has to show results on even the most stubborn hair.

3.Take it easy on the bleach and heat…

I know that this is easier said than done, because who doesn’t love to be blonde and perfectly styled? I get it. But this leads me to my next point…

4. Heal your hair…

If your gonna be rough and tough with it, make sure you repair the damage. Use quality products with keratin to repair, strengthen and smooth each strand, inside and out.

5. Use sulfate-free shampoo…

Sulfate is a salt that is in many shampoos and cleaning products. They are an inexpensive detergents that create a lot of bubbles, but strips your hair of colour and natural oils, leading to dry brittle hair, and a dry itchy scalp.

6. Get regular trims…

Hair naturally tapers towards the ends. As the hair becomes thin, normal things like rubbing on your clothes can cause damage, causing it to split upwards. When you get your hair cut we fix this, as it regular trims create a blunt end which stops the splitting. This also gives your ends a thicker diameter and a fighting chance to make it to lengths like never before.
